Lesja offers fantastic opportunities for hiking in the woods. Start by Aurstad Handel, and hike towards the hillside. On the way you will see great swimming places and cozy seats villages. Bring a lunch and enjoy!
Hiking from cabin to cabin at Dovre
At Dovre you will find a variety of cabins from DNT, and the area is excellent for multi-day trips from cabin to cabin. The DNT-key works in all the cabins, and several of them are equipped with food and bedding.
Start from Snøheimveien or Kongsvoll and go to Reinheim and Åmotsdalshytta, or hike from Snøhetta to Grøvudalshytta, Gammelsetra or Vangshaugen. On the way, you'll encounter abundant wildlife, and if you're really lucky, you meet the King of the Dovre Mountains, the musk ox.
